I have recently started photographing orchids in the spring of 2015. my earliest was the early spider orchid which I photographed on 27th April 2015 at durliston country park Dorset. My last orchid for 2015 was autumn ladies tresses Greenham common on August bank holiday.
For convenience I have arranged them alphabetically.
There are 28 species below which was good going for the first year, considering some of the species only bloom for a short while. this obviously impacted on my Butterflies and Dragonflies for last year giving me less time for them.
I have found that my olympus equipment was a great advantage here with less weight and smaller size to carry. that advantage is also carried over to my fungi photography.
For identification purposes I mainly use :- ORCHIDS OF GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND
