I was on a mission today to try out the metabones smart adapter which I purchased from Park Cameras at burgess hill the day before. I took along my olympus EM1 with a few canon fit long lenses to see how good the adapter is, and was it worth the investment at nearl £300. so the answer thus far is yes!
This adapter gives me when fitted to a micro four thirds camera double the MM length. For example a 500mm lens becomes 1000 field of view, thus on my olympus EM1. As against my 7Dmk2 =800mm. Of course you could argue placing a 1.4 converter on the lens but that can both degrade slightly the image and decrease one stop of light. Anyways today I am at Moor Green Lakes to try the combo out. (EM1- metabones smart adapter and sigma 500f4.5 lens)
